The Link uses Bluetooth 5.0 with a typical range of up to 30 feet (10 meters) in open air. Inside a vehicle or workshop, expect 15-20 feet (5-6 meters) depending on obstacles and interference.

Can I use the Link with multiple vehicles?

Yes. The Link device connects to any compatible OBD-II port. Your test data is stored in the app and organized by vehicle VIN, so you can easily switch between vehicles.

Does the Link need to be charged?

No. The Link draws power directly from the OBD-II port. There is no battery to charge or replace. Simply plug it in and it powers on automatically when the ignition is turned on.

Why isn't my Link device connecting?

Common troubleshooting steps:

  1. Ensure the vehicle ignition is in the ON position
  2. Verify Bluetooth is enabled on your phone
  3. Check that location services are enabled (required for Bluetooth scanning on Android)
  4. Unplug the Link, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in
  5. In the app, go to Settings → Device → Forget Device, then re-pair
  6. Make sure no other phone is currently connected to the Link

If issues persist, try the Link on a different vehicle to isolate the problem.

Is my data secure during wireless transmission?

Yes. The ProFormance Link uses Bluetooth 5.0 with AES-128 encryption for all data transmission. No vehicle data is stored on the Link device itself — all data is transferred directly to your phone and stored locally or in your cloud account.
